Feeling Christmassy and a brief update!

15135781_538085743056773_2926115988866110265_nI have definitely been off the radar since having the baby and I had slightly given up on my blog. However at this time of year I always miss my blog as it was in December 2013 when it really came into it’s own, so i thought I would update you on a few things!

  1. The baba is 9 months old!

I cannot get her to stop crawling and she’s at the stage where you turn your back for one second and she’s gone. Time to crack out the baby gates again!

2. I have a new job!

I have a full time job working for a university and I absolutely love it. I’m learning loads about sales, marketing and admin.

3. I am selling candles!

My aunt has recently started up a luxury candle business and she really is making some beautiful candles. Inspired by candles such as jo malone, white company and diptyque, they really are unique scents and have an incredible sent pay off. Head over to www.bridgeparkcandlecompany.co.uk and get some beautiful christmas candles for your loved ones!

4. I moved house!

As much as Ioved my old house, it became too small after having the baby. We have now moved somewhere a bit more rural and have lots more space! We are loving the country life so far!

Even though 2016 has felt like a crappy year, it has actually been a really eventful one for us and I am proud of what we have all achieved over the past year. Here’s to another successful year!

The Emotional Rollercoaster

In no way do I want this blog to become a pregnancy or parenting blog, but as someone who is guilty of reading a lot of pregnancy blog posts, I thought I would do a week by week update on my pregnancy. As I write this I am in the 26th week of my pregnancy but I will give you an insight into my 25th week. Continue reading “The Emotional Rollercoaster”

I can write again!

To anyone who may still occasionally read my blog or to people who may have just happened to stumble upon my blog, thank you for continuing to visit my site. After a couple of years of working and studying, I now feel I am in a position to focus on The Language Of Beauty again and if I can, try to expand my blog even more. I have genuinely missed the buzz of writing blog posts and receiving comments but my final year of my degree took over which obviously took priority. Now I am working part time and waiting for baby number 2 to arrive (yes we’re having another baby!!), and I feel I can now take this on as a hobby again and invest more time into the site. I have years worth of make up, skincare and lifestyle to write about so please take a read if you fancy and let me know your thoughts. I will be posting again very shortly! Auf wiedersehen!

Day 3 of Ciaté Mini Mani Month

Today was not a good day to begin with. The baby normally act’s as my alarm clock but today she decided to treat herself to a lie in, meaning I didn’t wake up either and as a result missing my morning lectures. Feeling guilty, I decided to cheer myself up by opening today’s window, but was sad to see a bright orange nail polish. It’s nothing personal against the colour but when I was pregnant, I had a bright orange pair of maternity jeans and the thought of them also brings horrible memories of heartburn, sickness and lack of comfort.

I reluctantly took off yesterdays polish to put this on, only to be pleasantly surprised! It has a lovely glossy finish and looks more like a bright red on the nails. The finish of these nail polishes has really converted me into investing a bit more money into my nail varnishes from now on because these seem to be giving a manicured finish. The polish today is called Hopscotch which is quite a nice name and took the sting away from the fact I had to wear bright orange for the day. I will definitely wear this polish again and I strongly recommend it for people looking for a bright red polish. Thank you Ciaté for getting me out of my bad mood.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

At the moment it’s really starting to get more christmassy here in Germany. Trees are going up, lights are starting to go on and an actual german market is currently being put together outside our flat so I would have to be an absolute scrooge not to feel slightly christmassy! So today we thought we’d do our first christmas activity with our baby girl and make christmas tree decorations! Might sound lovely and sweet but trust me we are scarred from the experience. Me and Harry got screamed at, slapped, had paintbrushes thrown at us and got paint splattered on us during Isla’s best efforts to become Pablo Picasso but at least we now have decorations to send out to our family members and can keep forever and remind us of that painful day when Isla became the Grinch who tried to ruin Christmas.
